When it comes to minimalism, it is usually about simple and basic. Yet there is nothing simple or basic about minimalist designs or minimalist fashion. We try creating something that is very basic and simple yet resonates with modern and ethnic aesthetics. The minimalist style is usually created by using the visual appeal of fabrics, solid colors, stitching, texture, and depth. There is an underlying, subtle complexity to it, built on playing with different shades of the same color, different fabrics, patterns of symmetry and asymmetry, soft and structural, the modern and the ethnic.
Minimalistic silhouettes are not necessarily about keeping it simple and plain. It is just the opposite of that. Sometimes, it’s much easier to make a statement with solid colors and prints. Going for the subtler changes, tweaking everything just enough, limiting some choices (colors), while fully utilizing others like fabrics, patterns, stitching, transforming simple into modern is a creative task in itself. Our Modern Basics collection is a classic example of modern and ethnic aesthetics.
