What Goes On Behind The Scenes In Our Production?

This is the second part of our series, where we take you through the journey of our sustainable and ethical clothing production. We began with our brand philosophy, the fabrics we use, and our love for natural dyes in part one. And here we're ready to take you on a tour of our processes, where our organic cotton garments come to life!

We take pride in creating high-quality, organic clothes using sustainable practices that minimize harm to the environment. Our manufacturing process involves several steps, each of which is carefully executed to ensure the best possible results. We are committed to innovating and improving our methods to create the comfiest clothes for our customers.

It all begins with Step 1: Sourcing the Raw Materials. We believe that the foundation of a sustainable and ethical production process lies in sourcing the highest-quality, sustainably-sourced raw materials. Our materials are chosen with the utmost care and attention, so that our clothing is not only beautiful and safe but also long-lasting.

Step 2: Spinning and Weaving is where the art begins! Our partners help us in weaving fabrics with intricate patterns and textures that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. We ensure that the fabric is of the desired weight and texture, which sets the stage for the next step.

In Step 3: Pre-Treatment, all the fabric goes through a thorough cleaning process, removing any impurities that may be present, preparing it for the dyeing process.

And now, we come to the most exciting step of our process—Step 4: Dyeing. This is where our fabrics truly come to life with a range of natural dyes that are eco-friendly, herbal, and free from harmful chemicals. From indigo blue to madder red, turmeric yellow to sea salt white, and rich pomegranate purple, a variety of natural dyes are used to create a stunning range of colors, all while taking care of our planet and our workers.

Step 5: Post-Treatment helps to fix the color and ensure that it is set permanently, improving the fabric's durability and resistance to fading. There are several ingredients that can be used in post-treatment to fix the color and improve the durability of fabric like

  • Fixatives help to bind the dye to the fabric fibers.
  • pH stabilizers help to maintain the correct pH level.
  • Optical brighteners to enhance the color and brightness of the fabrics.
  • UV absorbers are compounds that help to protect the fabric from UV radiation, which can cause fading and degradation.

And then comes our favorite of all, Step 6: Stitching Process where all the magic happens! Upon receiving our naturally dyed organic cotton fabrics, we transform them into beautiful silhouettes in a range of sizes and styles. Our skilled local artisans take great care to stitch each clothing piece separately, ensuring that each one is truly one-of-a-kind. We also produce clothes only when ordered by our customers according to their specific needs, so they receive fresh, high-quality clothing that is tailored to their individual needs every time. This approach allows us to avoid unnecessary bulk production and minimize textile waste.

And finally, in Step 7: Quality Control, our garments are thoroughly checked for any defects or flaws, ensuring that the finished product is perfect and meets our high standards of quality and sustainability before going to our customers.

At every stage of our production process, we take pride in our commitment to sustainability and ethics. All of the above steps take months of hard work, which is why our garments are "made to order." This approach not only helps to reduce waste and excess inventory but also allows us to pay fair wages to our local artisans and workers, who pour their heart and soul into creating these beautiful pieces of clothing.

So join us in our mission to make fashion practices more sustainable, ethical, and beautiful. Together, we can create a better future for our planet and its people.
